Divine Mercy Sunday 2022

On the second Sunday of Easter, we celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday, a feast day focusing on the gift of mercy and love given through Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection.

The feast is a special day of refuge and shelter for the consolation of souls, especially those needing Christ’s forgiveness and grace. It is also for those who are struggling to grow in faith, in the hope that they would be renewed and strengthened.

Jesus said to St Faustina, that on Divine Mercy Sunday, the very depths of His tender mercy would be open to all souls:

“On that day all the divine floodgates through which grace flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet. My mercy is so great that no mind, be it of man or of angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eternity. Everything that exists has come forth from the very depths of My most tender mercy. Every soul in its relation to Me will contemplate My love and mercy throughout eternity.”

A plenary indulgence, a remission of the temporal punishment due to sins which have already been forgiven, can be obtained on this day.

To obtain the Divine Mercy Sunday indulgence the faithful need to:
