*A conference dinner will be held on Friday 11 October commencing 5.30pm, at Tung Tong Roong Thai Restaurant, 1A Hillcrest Rd Pennant Hills, which is walking distance from the conference venue. Dinner will include Banquet Menu, 1x beverage (soft drink, house wine or beer) and tea or coffee.

Presenter Biographies

Dr Debra Snoddy 

dr-debra-snoddyDebra is a lecturer in Biblical Studies at the Catholic Institute of Sydney. She completed an STL in Sacred Scripture in 1999 at the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium, and was awarded a PhD and STD in 2014 from the same university. Debra has held positions at the Archdiocese of Armagh; All Hallows College, Dublin; and Carlow College, Carlow in Ireland. At All Hallows, Debra was responsible for developing and delivering courses on the Bible, especially on the Gospel of John. She was also head of the life-long learning programmes which formed part of the School of Adult and Community Learning. Debra is a member of the Research Group for the Study of the Johannine and Pauline Literature at the Catholic University of Louvain, as well as a member of the European Biblical Association and the Irish Biblical Association.

Rev Assoc. Prof. Ormond Rush

prof-ormond-rushFr Ormond is a priest of the Townsville Diocese. He has a doctorate in theology from the Gregorian University in Rome and a Master of Education from the University of Southern Queensland. After ordination in 1975 he served in parishes in the Townsville Diocese from 1975 to 1987. He taught theology at the former Pius XII Provincial Seminary at Banyo from 1991 to 2000. From 1998 to 2001, he was Dean of the ecumenical consortium and the Brisbane College of Theology and, from 2001 to 2006, President of St Paul’s Theological College, Banyo. He was President of the Forum of Australian Catholic Institutes of Theology from 2001 and 2006 and President of the Australian Catholic Theological Association from 2007 to 2010. He currently lectures at St Paul’s Theological College and Australian Catholic University, Banyo Campus.
