Mission Statement

The Catholic Parish of Warringah

Version: August v5 2016

Through the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist) we have been given
the precious gifts of Faith, Hope and Love so that we may become a community of Jesus’ disciples
in our spiritual home called: the Catholic Parish of Warringah.

In union with the universal Church we are committed to:

  1. Proclaiming the Good News by creating opportunities to evangelise in our Parish and wider
    community.
  2. Building a vibrant, respectful and prayerful community centred in Christ and celebrating our
    cultural diversity.
  3. Welcoming and reaching out to others, especially those new to our Parish family and those in need.
  4. Encouraging families to participate in the faith life of the Parish.
  5. Inspiring and nurturing the faith of everyone, especially within the lives of children and the youth of
    the parish.
  6. Supporting community members to recognise, respect and share their gifts and talents.
  7. Promote Vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life.

A message from our Priests -

“... always keeping in mind that ‘the harvest is abundant but the labourers are few.’
Hence, prayer becomes indispensable. It’s the lifeblood of our community or we won’t succeed.
The same is true with poverty and simplicity of life because it shows that we rely on the grace of God,
not on our sense of security. The Gospel is not given to us for our private edification or spiritual pleasure.
It’s like a seed: we receive it and we are meant to spread it. We can’t keep it to ourselves. “
