Dear OLR Parishioners and the community of God,
This Sunday is Palm Sunday, a day when we as a Church celebrate Jesus Christ’s entrance into Jerusalem to accomplish His Father’s will - the Paschal Mystery. He went in very vulnerable but willingly and courageously. Why willingly and courageously? Because Jesus trusted perfectly in His Father and because He loved us to the end. He loved us so much that nothing could prevent Him from saving us, not even death and He knew His Father is Almighty God.
This time we cannot physically gather as His community to walk with our Lord in His way of victory through suffering and death because of the threat of COVID-19. However, it is Christ who is walking with us during this time of fear and uncertainty. We were to raise our palm branches to cheer our Lord, let us raise our hearts to Him in whatever circumstances of life we are and tell Him all that is in our hearts. Let us never feel lonely because Christ is always with us and specially this time for He knows how helpless we feel at this difficult time. As He came out of His sufferings and death victoriously, He will also help us to overcome what we are undergoing that we may all resume our normal lives soon.
Let us continue keeping the Government’s orders for the good of all of us.
I continue assuring you of my prayers and especially my Palm Sunday Private Mass which I will offer as I do in all my private Masses for you, your families, your loved ones; for the elderly people and the most vulnerable, for the medical personnel , for the Church and for the whole world.
And thank you so much for your prayers too.
Fr Raphael Kimaro-AJ.
