Sacramental Programmes for Children

In the Diocese of Broken Bay the order of reception of the Sacraments is: Baptism, Confirmation, First Reconciliation and Eucharist (Holy Communion).
Sacrament preparation programs in the Diocese of Broken Bay are family based/parish supported programs. They are structured in such a way that parents and children spend quality time with each other throughout the program.
The preparation sessions will be facilitated by members of our Parish sacramental team. Our facilitators will assist your child by providing reading material, a workbook and assist you and your child to prepare worthily to receive the sacraments.
If there are any extenuating circumstances, regarding times and dates, please make an appointment to see the Parish Priest no later than one week prior to the first Parent Information and Enrolment session. Alternative arrangements will need to be made in case of missing any of the preparation sessions.

Important Information

The dates for sacramental program for children in 2024 are:

An enrolment fee of $30 per child and $20 each additional child in the family is required to help cover the cost of materials and certificates. This fee is required to be paid at the time of enrolling your child for each sacrament. If you have difficulty in paying this fee, please talk to the Parish priest.
It is important to note that preparation for the sacraments in this parish commences with the Parent Information and Enrolment session for each sacrament. Attendance to the Parent Information Session is compulsory.
At least one parent, or legal guardian, is required to attend the Parent Information and Enrolment session. Children are not required to attend this session. Parent and child are required to attend four one-hour preparation sessions for each sacrament. Attendance at these sessions is compulsory for your child to be adequately prepared to receive the sacraments.
If this is your child’s first sacrament at OLR Wyoming and they were not baptized here, you are required to bring a copy of their Baptismal Certificate to the Parent Information and Enrolment session in order that they can receive the sacrament.
