Parish Choir

"To sing belongs to lovers" St Augustine.

choirMusic ministry is a priority in the Catholic Community of North Harbour because it supports the first aspiration of the parish "to be a worshipping community". Considerable human resources are devoted to this ministry and the results are obvious.

There are several strong and talented music groups which minister at the parish liturgies.

Currently this page is being constructed by the parish Youth Music Minister, Ben Marshall, and will be available soon. In the meantime read about the parish choir.

The Parish Choir has a strong tradition of enhancing the liturgy by leading the congregation in music and song.

The choir started in the eighties under the leadership of Fr. Pat Fahey OSA. His musical aspirations for the choir are continued to-day under the direction of Georgene O'Brien.

The choir has a large and varied repertoire of hymns, many using parts (SATB). The choir sing at major parish liturgical events and regularly at the 6 pm Vigil Mass on a Saturday.

During winter the choir rehearse from 5 pm on a Saturday prior to the 6 pm Vigil Mass and at other times on a Tuesday evening from 7.30 pm to 9 pm.

Current membership of the choir is around 15 and new members are always welcome.

For further information please contact the parish office on 9949 4455 or see Georgene after the Saturday Mass.
