FIRST EUCHARIST 2024

Eucharist is the Sacrament which brings our Christian Initiation to its fulfillment and it is the ‘source and summit’ of our lives as Catholics. And so, each time we celebrate Eucharist we re-affirm our faith, professed at Baptism and Confirmation, and we give thanks for God’s great love.

Children in Year 4 or older are invited to begin their preparation for First Holy Communion after they have firstly celebrated their Confirmation and First Reconciliation.

The parent information session for First Eucharist will be held on Wednesday 10th April at 6.30pm in Holy Spirit Church.

On Monday 15th April the online link to First Eucharist registration will be available on this page, registration will close on Friday 3rd May. No registrations will be accepted after the commencement of classes.

First Holy Communion will be celebrated over the three Parish weekend Masses on the Feast of Corpus Christi:- either Saturday 1st June at 5pm, Sunday 2nd June at 9am or Sunday 2nd June at 5pm.

You will select your preference of First Eucharist Mass during your registration process.

The four weeks of classes begin on Sunday 5th May and continue each week till Sunday 26th May in the school hall at 4pm.  Classes will be followed by Mass at 5pm, your child will be presented to the parish community and will be actively involved in this liturgy each week.

In preparing our children to receive this sacrament we come to realise that they are being drawn into a deeper relationship with Jesus and also with the Catholic community. But this is not just a personal experience, it becomes a family experience because our children draw life from the environment in which they live; the family and the Catholic community are the basic sources of that life.

We look forward to meeting you at the Parent Information Evening on Wednesday, 10th April, 6.30pm in Holy Spirit Church.

Please contact our Parish Sacramental Team on Sacraments.Kincumberparish@bbcatholic.org.au if we can assist you with any further information.
