Baptism - Lower North ShoreChildren's initiation begins with the Rite of Baptism for Children.

This is often undertaken when the child is an infant, but it can be undertaken at a later stage up to the age of discernment. Special arrangements are made for children who are older than the normal age for children's confirmation and first communion (school year 3) but not yet reached the age of discernment. Baptisms may be celebrated at one of our scheduled ceremonies or during Mass on a nominated Sunday.

Parents wishing to have their child/children baptised in our Parish must attend, prior to the Baptism, a Baptism Preparation Session which you will need to book to attend (compulsory if this is your first child).  Preparation sessions are held on the 2nd and/or 3rd Tuesday of the month in the Parish Office (information on the form below). The Parish offers ongoing support to parents during the intervening years between Baptism and the other Sacraments of Initiation.

Adults wishing to be baptised participate in our Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA) program. This process takes 6 -12 months.

For more information please contact Ursula or Dionne at the Parish office on 9958 8846 or email:

We sell baptism candles for $30. Please contact the office if you would like to purchase one and this can be sent directly to the church on the day of the baptism.
