Parents seeking baptism for their child are welcome to the Parish. Baptism is a most wonderful ceremony marking the beginning of a new kind of relationship between God and his child. Parents present their child to God and God bestows upon the child the gift of eternal life given through Jesus Christ. The washing and the anointing signify what God is doing.
There are some conditions for infant baptism.
- There must be a solid hope that the child to be baptised will be brought up in the practice of the Catholic faith.
- Parents (and hopefully godparents) are to attend an information evening prior to Baptism.
- There must be at least one Catholic parent and one Catholic godparent over the age of 16.
The Process
1. Parents attend an information evening prior to Baptism. Godparents are welcome to attend but no obligation for them to do so.
2. Parents attend a Sunday Mass of their choice prior to Baptism and present their child to the community
3. Baptism is celebrated at 11.30am after the 10am Mass on most Sundays.
Information Evening
This informative meeting is held every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7pm in the Church.

Baptisms are celebrated nearly every Sunday of the year at 11.30am, after the 10am Sunday Mass.
Requests for Baptism within Mass are always welcome, and generally accommodated.
Please note: Children over the age of 7 can be baptised with Catholic parental support, but receive their own instruction, given in a separate process.
