Bible Study Group
In Sacred Scripture, the Church constantly finds her nourishment and her strength, for she welcomes it not as a human word, "but as what it really is, the word of God". "In the sacred books, the Father who is in heaven comes lovingly to meet his children, and talks with them." (Catechism Of The Catholic Church 104).
Join our group each Friday morning from 10am to 11am in the Sacred Heart Church meeting room or via Zoom, as we reflect on and explore the Word of God for the coming Sunday.
For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.
Matthew 18:20
Charismatic Prayer Group
The parish Charismatic Prayer Group meet on Tuesday nights at 7:30pm in the Sacred Heart Church prayer room. An opportunity to join us in praise, worship and prayer. A great time to grow a love of the Scriptures, a freedom in effective prayer and an ability to share your faith with others.
Charismatic prayer is a form of Christian worship characterised by an emphasis on the "charisms", or spiritual gifts, of the Holy Spirit. While it is rooted in the biblical accounts of the early Church—particularly the events of Pentecost—it became a distinct global movement in the 20th century. In 2019, Pope Francis unified the various charismatic services into a single body called CHARIS (Catholic Charismatic Renewal International Service).
Taizé Holy Hour
The parish has a Taizé Holy Hour with the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament on the first Sunday of each month, from 5pm to 5:55pm before the 6pm Mass at Sacred Heart Church Pymble.
In a world of constant noise, true peace can feel out of reach. The Taizé Holy Hour offers a remedy: a meditative prayer service designed to help us pause, breathe, and listen.
Nothing is more conducive to a communion with God than a meditative common prayer with, as its high point, silence to let the word of God reach us.
The Sunday schedule for the 2026 year is: January 4, February 1, March 1, April 5, May 3, June 7, July 5, August 2, September 6, October 4, November 1, and December 6.
The Taizé Community is located in the small village of Taizé, in the Burgundy region of eastern France.
