Divine Mercy devotion in Pymble

Divine Mercy Sunday is Sunday, 7 April 2024.

St Faustina's Diary (Divine Mercy in My Soul), contains at least 14 passages in which Our Lord is quoted as requesting that a "Feast of Mercy" be formally established in the Church.

The Divine Mercy message is one we can call to mind simply by remembering to:

Ask for His Mercy. God wants us to approach Him in prayer constantly, repenting of our sins and asking Him to pour His mercy out upon us and upon the whole world.

Be merciful. God wants us to receive His mercy and let it flow through us to others. He wants us to extend love and forgiveness to others just as He does to us.

Completely trust in Jesus. God wants us to know that all the graces of His mercy can only be received by our trust. The more we open the door of our hearts and lives to Him with trust, the more we can receive.

Leading up to Divine Mercy Sunday, in the week of 2 April, we will pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet after all Masses during the week.

Additionally, on Divine Mercy Sunday, 7 April, there will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at 3pm in the Sacred Heart Church Pymble with an opportunity for Reconciliation. We will then pray The Chaplet of Divine Mercy before Benediction at 4pm.

The Chaplet of Divine Mercy is recited using ordinary Rosary beads of five decades. The Chaplet is preceded by two opening prayers from the Diary of St Maria Faustina Kowalska and followed by a closing prayer.
