The Ordination of Deacon Paul Tran Van Duong
It is with great joy that we announce the ordination to the priesthood of Deacon Paul Tran Van Duong SDS of the Society of the Divine Saviour.
Deacon Paul has been ministering in the Parish of Saint Patrick's in East Gosford and was due to be ordained in Manila on 18 April 2020. However, the coronavirus restrictions now prevent him from travelling to the Philippines in the foreseeable future.
Deacon Paul's Superior, Fr Adam Janus SDS, with the approval of the Superior General, requested that Bishop Anthony Randazzo ordain Deacon Paul to the Order of the Priesthood. The ordination Mass took place on Thursday, 16 April 2020 at 4pm at Saint Patrick's East Gosford.
The ordination Mass was presented live online. Deacon Paul's family in Vietnam, his community in Manila, and the Broken Bay community were able to join with Deacon Paul and participate in the Mass online.
Bishop Anthony Randazzo is delighted that this moment of grace has been given to Broken Bay.
