The Social Media Minimum Age law
"For the good of their wellbeing" is a program to raise awareness of Australia's new Social Media Minimum Age law. The new law means that from 10 December 2025, you have to be 16 years or older to have a social media account.
This Australian government program is designed to protect young people from the risk of harm from social media services and to support the wellbeing of young people.
The Australian government, protecting young Australians at a critical stage of their development, have established a Social media age restrictions hub to help you understand and prepare for this change.
