"We, the people of the Broken Bay Diocese, are charged with the mission of proclaiming the Good News of Jesus in our words and actions." One in Christ. One Community.
A diocesan journey of listening together, reading the signs of the times, and discerning where the Holy Spirit is leading our communities.
Pastoral discernment is the shared work of listening, prayer, dialogue and practical reflection. It helps the Church read its context carefully, attend to the voice of the Holy Spirit, and identify concrete pastoral priorities for mission.
In the Diocese of Broken Bay, this journey has been expressed across the North Shore, Northern Beaches and Central Coast communities. Each regional process has invited parishioners, clergy and leaders to listen deeply, identify emerging themes, and respond with renewed missionary imagination.
"Being Synodal is the way of being Church today according to the will of God, in a dynamic of discerning and listening together to the voice of the Holy Spirit."
