The Charitable Works Fund bringing joy

The Charitable Works Fund is a tax deductible appeal supporting five charities that make a difference to the lives of children and families in our diocese.

In the video below we share stories from Rachel and Clare on their experience as students of catechists and now as catechists themselves. Our catechists bring joy and spiritual fulfilment to children in their Catholic scripture classes. There are 16,500 children who receive Catholic Religious Education in NSW public schools in our diocese.

When you make a decision to give to the Charitable Works Fund you are helping your local community. Donations received are distributed by Broken Bay between the following:

  • CatholicCare Hospital Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care Practitioner Program - where Pastoral Care Practitioners reach over 3,000 patients, 700 families and over 180 hospital staff each year across seven hospitals in our diocese.
  • Confraternity of Christian Doctrine - creating and updating teaching materials and training catechists who minister to public school students across the diocese.
  • St Lucy's School Wahroonga - for primary school students with disabilities.
  • St Edmund's College Wahroonga - for secondary school students with disabilities.
  • Ephpheta Centre Punchbowl - serving the Catholic deaf community.

All these charities and agencies minister to our families, friends and neighbours in the Diocese of Broken Bay.

For the people of Broken Bay, charity begins at home.
