Bequests
A bequest is a donation left to your local parish, given via your will. A bequest to your parish will help the faith community which has meant so much to you to continue its good works and its loving outreach. Refund Policy
If a payment or donation has been made to Corpus Christi Parish in error and a refund is required, please contact our Parish office by phoning 02 9144 6998 or alternatively email office@corpuschristi.com.au. Please note any approved refunds will be returned using the original method of payment. Payments or donations from credit cards will be refunded to the same credit card used to make the donation.
Understanding parish collection
The First Collection
Historically, the First Collection helped support the parish priest’s livelihood, including assistance for other priests serving in the parish and the everyday needs of the presbytery. Following the reforms of the Second Vatican Council, dioceses were encouraged to establish a central fund so that priests could be supported more fairly across the diocese.
In our diocese, this fund is called the Clergy Remuneration and Sick Fund (CRSF). After local parish needs are met, the First Collection is contributed to this fund, which then helps provide priests with a monthly stipend, support for food and household expenses in the presbytery, and health insurance and care when needed.
The Second Collection
The Second Collection supports the life and mission of our parish community. Just like any family home, the parish has ongoing expenses that enable us to worship together, care for one another, and continue the work of the Church. Through your generosity, our parish is able to provide pastoral care, liturgies, sacramental programs, hospitality, and outreach to the wider community.
This collection also helps meet the practical costs of running the parish, including staff salaries, utilities, insurance, maintenance and repairs, vehicles, and other everyday expenses that keep our parish welcoming and active.
