Anointing of the Sick

The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is not a sacrament for only those who are at the point of death.

It is intended for all those who are seriously ill or for anyone who is about to have surgery. The Sacrament can be received again in the event that someone recovers from an illness and then falls ill again. There is no age limitation for this sacrament, anointing can be administered to children as needed.

A monthly healing Mass is held on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 9.15am. The sacrament of anointing is an integral part of this Mass.

The parish community provides ministry of the sacraments to the sick and to the homebound. Ministers take communion to the sick and homebound each weekend. Please contact the parish office for more details.

Reconciliation, visitation and anointing visits to the sick by a priest can be arranged by contacting the parish office during office hours.

In the case of an emergency or for visitations to the sick please telephone the parish office. After hours the parish office telephone is redirected to one of the parish priests. If unanswered or if the parish priests are unavailable please telephone 1300 774 378 (1300 PRIEST) which is the Diocesan emergency number to locate a priest and will be answered 24 hours per day seven days per week.
