Archbishop Anthony announces new clergy appointments

Archbishop Anthony Randazzo, Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Broken Bay and Prefect of the Dicastery for Legislative Texts, has announced a number of new clergy appointments.

Having already announced Deacon Tân Nguyễn will be appointed assistant priest of the Parish of St Ives, assisting Fr Paul Durkin, following his ordination to the priesthood, he also announced the appointments for Deacon Shayne D’Cunha and Deacon Huy Trần.

Following their ordination on 29 April, Deacon Shayne will be appointed as assistant priest to the Parish of Epping-Carlingford and Deacon Huy will be appointed as assistant priest to the Cathedral Parish of Hornsby. Both men have been serving in these respective parishes during the diaconate ministry.

Fr Biju Mathew, who has served in the Diocese for more than five years will return to his native Diocese of Maranthavady in Kerala, India on 21 April. He was most recently assistant priest at the Parish of Frenchs Forest.

Fr Shiju Thomas OSH, who arrived in the Diocese in February has been appointed to replace him, serving as assistant priest at the Parish of Frenchs Forest. He has been resident at the Parish of Epping-Carlingford since arriving in the Diocese.

Fr Aldrin Valdehueza, who has been stranded in the Philippines due to visa complications, will conclude his appointment as assistant priest of the Parish of Epping-Carlingford and will be given a new appointment upon his return.

Fr Anoop Davasia, assistant priest at the Cathedral Parish of Hornsby, will join the Parish of Epping-Carlingford as assistant priest, effective 27 May.
