Instrumentum laboris

Instrumentum laboris (Latin for working instrument) is the official working document for the First Session of the XVI General Ordinary Assembly of the Synod of Bishop. The Assembly will be asked to read and respond to the document, which synthesises the voices of the Synodal process and invites the participants to respond to certain key areas.

Address of His Holiness Pope Francis for the Opening of the Synod

The address given by Pope Francis on 9 October 2021, opening the Synod 2021-2024, inviting the Universal Church to begin a period of communion, participation and mission, guided by the Holy Spirit.

The Adsumus Prayer

The Adsumus prayer is the prayer of invocation to the Holy Spirit for an ecclesial assembly of governance or discernment. The prayer asks for the Holy Spirit to guide the decisions of the people and will be used regularly at the Assembly.
