Ministries

Within our parish communities there are various opportunities for leadership and service, in which lay men and women build up the life and mission of the Church in co-responsibility with their pastors. As Pope Paul VI shared, “The laity can also feel called, or in fact be called, to cooperate with their pastors in the service of the ecclesial community, for the sake of its growth and life. This can be done through the exercise of different kinds of ministries according to the grace and charisms which the Lord has been pleased to bestow upon them (Evangelii Nuntiandi 73).

Parish ministries are public acts of service rendered by someone for the good of others. Ministries foster the discipleship of others in community, call for formation and ongoing learning, are exercised within the context of a diversity of ministries, in collaboration with others, and are oriented to the mission of the whole People of God in the world.
