Participating in The Mission of Christ – Diocesan Lenten Program

The Diocese has published a Lenten Program, “Participating in The Mission of Christ” for all the parishes and the faithful of Broken Bay.

                                                           Lenten book 2024

This Lenten resource for 2024 invites everyone to reflect prayerfully on the Sunday Gospel readings in Lent, and can be used individually or as part of a group.

“For each of the six weeks of Lent, this resource includes an opening prayer, a reading of the Gospel text; a reflection of the text which draws on one of Bishop Anthony’s priority areas; and a personal testimony on an aspect of that particular priority area,” Broken Bay Chancellor and Director of Mission, Kelly Paget said.

“All the materials and reflections have been prepared by members from our Broken Bay Church community, making this resource relevant to us and the journey we are on as a community.”

There are also music suggestions which can be used for small groups as a weekly introduction before the opening prayer.

In the Introduction to the booklet Bishop Anthony writes; ”My hope is that this Lenten resource will be a powerful experience of prayer with Scripture, opening up the well of our hearts to the Word of God.

I pray also that the Word be planted in our lives and transforms them.”

The booklet is available in parishes and also as an e-flip book here
