Natural Family Planning

Natural Family Planning (NFP) refers to methods for achieving or avoiding pregnancy through knowledge and charting of fertile and infertile phases of a woman’s menstrual cycle. This is done through observing certain biological markers that correlate with fertility. Research shows Natural Family Planning methods to have 99.5% method effectiveness in avoiding pregnancy.

Natural Family Planning also enables a woman to both monitor and manage her gynaecological health throughout her entire reproductive life. Information obtained through charting biological markers can be used by medical consultants (FertilityCare) using the new reproductive science NaProTechnology to treat and diagnose gynaecological problems such as infertility, PCOS, irregular cycles and endometriosis with great success.

Natural family planning recognises fertility as a normal healthy function of a woman’s body. It is free of drugs and devices, using knowledge to empower couples to understand how to work cooperatively with their fertility rather than suppress it. The method itself encourages couples to nurture their communication and cooperation with one another in all aspects of their sexuality.
