You are here:HomeMissionCCDSRE Training and FormationGuidelines for Parish Catechist Coordinators INTRODUCTION AND WELCOME This information has been prepared to offer an understanding of the rights and responsibilities of all those involved with Special Religious Education (SRE) in the Diocese of Broken Bay. The information is to help the Parish Priests and Parish Catechist Coordinators with the provision of SRE, and to help them provide quality SRE to Catholic children in the public schools within the parish. References to other sources, particularly the NSW Department of Education, will also prove helpful in providing more detail. Links to the Diocesan CCD office also provide practical links to policies, procedures and proformas. The Catechist as an SRE volunteer is responsible to the Parish Priest, the parish community and the local public school in which they volunteer. Compliance with Commonwealth and State legislation is a requirement and expectation of all SRE volunteers.
