We offer practical assistance in the way of pregnancy tests, baby and maternity goods, accurate information about all options, support, advocacy, counselling and group classes to help women and their families navigate their thoughts and concerns as they face an unplanned pregnancy.

No woman should ever feel that she is cornered, or that there are no options left for her except to terminate her pregnancy. Lack of support and education, alongside continual bombardment by the media, instils fear - that an unexpected pregnancy is ‘the end’. But we believe everyone is entitled to support, respect and compassionate care.

With these things, we seek to relieve women of the anxiety of an unplanned pregnancy by meeting their immediate AND long-term needs.

If you suspect you might be pregnant, there are a few things you can do while you wait to see the GP.

First, a home pregnancy test can be done. If the test is positive, you should make an appointment to see your doctor soon. However, if it's negative you may not be far enough along for the test to detect your pregnancy. In this case, if your period doesn't arrive in a few day you can take a test again. A pregnancy test will generally not show up positive unless you are close to, or after the day your period is due.

Your GP can order a blood and urine sample to determine whether you are pregnant and to assess your health.

Some early pregnancy symptoms you may be experiencing can include:

  • Late Period
  • Tender Breasts
  • Bloating
  • Nausea
  • Constipation
  • Frequent Urination
  • Light cramping similar to period pain
