CYBB ACYF 2019 FAQ’s

What is ACYF?

The Australian Catholic Youth Festival (ACYF) is a national gathering of Catholic young people established by the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference (ACBC). It exists to provide young people with opportunities to deepen their relationship with Jesus, be empowered to be disciples in the world today and encounter and celebrate the vitality of the Church in Australia

The Australian Catholic Youth Festival exists to:

  • Provide a high-quality formative and experiential opportunity for young Catholics to encounter Jesus Christ, in the context of the Catholic Church in Australia;
  • Listen to and discuss the issues and challenges in the lives of young Catholics in Australia;
  • Evangelise young people and empower them to be evangelists;
  • Provide young people with local examples and connections of vocations, social action, liturgy and prayer, catholic music and catechesis.
When is ACYF?

December 8th-10th 2019. Approximately 9.30am – 8.30pm each day. 

Where is ACYF 2019?

The 2019 Festival will be held at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, 21 Mounts Bay Road, Perth 

Who can attend?

The CYBB Pilgrimage is for young people who are in Year 9 (in 2019) up to the age of 30.

I am younger than Year 9 – can I come with my family?

The Festival does not permit participants younger than Year 9. If you are younger than this, we look forward to welcoming you to future festivals!

I’m older than 30 – can I still register as a participant with the CYBB Pilgrimage?

No – however, over 30s might like to register as;

  • apply to be a leader with the CYBB Young Adult Group.
  • As a clergy or religious
  • As a community leader as part of a group from a parish or school
  • an Encounter Expo Exhibitor with the ACYF
Do I need to register myself on the Festival website?

ACYF registration is included in each of the CYBB Pilgrimage packages. Participants in the CYBB Pilgrimage will be registered with ACYF through Harvest Journeys via our link. The packages WILL NOT be available through the ACYF website. 

What happens at ACYF?

The ACYF is a dynamic festival experience with a variety of activities occurring across the day. The basic opening hours of the Festival in 2019 are:

Sunday 8 December
9:30am                 Morning Plenary (Doors open 8:30am)
11:00am               Festival Activities - workshops, music stages, expo hall, prayer and discussion
6:30pm                 Evening Plenary (Doors open 5:30pm)
8:30pm                 Close

Monday 9 December
9:30am                 Morning Plenary (Doors open 8:30am)
11:00am               Festival Activities - workshops, music stages, expo hall, prayer and discussion
6:30pm                 Evening Plenary (Doors open 5:30pm)
8:30pm                 Close

Tuesday 10 December
9:30am                 Festival Activities - workshops, music stages, expo hall, prayer and discussion
3:30pm                 Pilgrimage Walk to Closing Mass Site
6:30pm                 Closing Mass
8:30pm                 Finish

 A full schedule of workshops and experience times and locations will be released later 2019. 

Is Food included?

Most meals are included in the CYBB Packages (ACYF meal ticket and most meals provided) however meals on travel or free days are not. Further details will be made available shortly 

Where is our Accommodation?

All accommodation is provided in the CYBB Packages and is located within a 30 minute walk of the venue – even closer to the final mass site! Details of accommodation site will be released soon

How do I book?

At this stage we ask that young people from Parishes complete the EOI form on our website. When available we will then send you a link to complete your registration and payments via the Harvest website.
